Kibbles ‘n Bits

December 7th, 2007

It’s Friday!

I updated the permissions on the blog so that anyone can comment without being logged in.

In other news, work sucked today. Our email servers have been really screwy for a couple days so it’s made life miserable. Then there’s been the Apache 2 upgrade crap this week. An awful lot of people with .php scripts couldn’t use them anymore because Apache 2 didn’t know how to process them. Pretty dumb. It’s the weekend though so all is good.

Update: 5/6/2010 – This isn’t true.  I love Apache 2 :)

I officially hate Apache 2. ‘Nuff said.

Linux

December 1st, 2007

I just finished installing Ubuntu on my Dell XPS M1210 laptop (I replaced Vista with it) and I have to say I’m fairly impressed. I’m a little annoyed that many of my favorite programs (i.e. Napster, where I have unlimited downloads for $9.95 a month) are no longer available because they don’t support linux, but overall I’m pretty impressed. It recognized all of my drivers right away and isn’t as stupid as Microsoft. I suppose I’ll have to install a virtual machine and run xp with it so i can use the other programs.
